Prime Minister Imran Khan said on Monday that the government was going towards lifting the lock-down in the country gradually.

While addressing the volunteers of the Corona Tiger Force, he said that it was the need of the hour to relax the restrictions of the lock-down in the country gradually as the effects of this lock-down were getting worst.

“A large number of people from different classes have been hit hard by this lock-down. They have lost jobs and income resources that are causing more problems, he added.

He also said that the government was in pursuit of normalizing the things by lifting the lock-own but there were chances that people would rush to their workplaces once they were allowed to resume their activities. He said that the job of the tiger force would be to manage the situation at that time as the administration could not do all these things alone. He added that the tiger force would aware people of the gravity of the situation and the after-effects if the SoPs were not followed religiously. Especially, in the mosques, the force would make it sure that the mutually decided points were being followed and people were maintaining distance while offering prayers.

H also said that if people did not cooperate with the government and started violating the social distancing rules, the coronavirus would definitely spread more out there.

He further said that if the virus spread again, it would be mandatory for the government to impose an even stricter lock-down in the country.

He said that he decided to form the volunteer tiger force because of the challenge we were facing right now. He also said that a big stratum of our society was critically affected by this lock-down.

The purpose behind forming this force was that those who could afford must come out for the help of the poor and the administration as the administration didn’t have such a big number of people who could manage this situation, he added.

When I started gathering money for Shaukat Khanum Hospital, I was literally worried about the collection of funds as a huge amount was needed at that time for the construction of the hospital. On somebody’s suggestion, I involved the school-going children in this mission and so I formed ‘Imran Tiger Force’ in which the school going children participated as volunteers. That force at that time made my mission successful and we established Shaukat Khanum Hospital that is offering free cancer treatment to 75% of its patients up till now, he said.

He mentioned that the successful experiment of forming a volunteer force at that time is actually the motivation behind the formation of this tiger force in the times of the current crisis.

He said that the volunteer would not be authorized to collect any funds or distribute them. There would be no salary or any other financial benefits for to this force as it would be a volunteer job, he added.

He said that the tiger force would point out the people who actually lost jobs and businesses during the coronavirus pandemic and help them register themselves with Ehsaas Emergency Cash Programme.

In the end, Prime Minister Imran Khan directed the volunteers to point out hoarders and tell the administration about them.
