Exports of Pakistan’s readymade garments increased by 13.19%

Pakistan Bureau of Statistics data shows 11.21% increase in leather manufactures exports during first five months of current financial year

Readymade garments exports from Pakistan during the first five months of the current financial year increased by 13.19% as compared to exports of the corresponding period of the last year.

Textile products worth over $5.763 billion were exported as compared to exports of $5.506 billion of the same period of the last year, according to the latest data released by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics.

On month on month basis, textile exports also grew by 7.03% in November as it was recorded at $1.177 billion as against the exports of $1.099 billion of the same month of the last year. However, it was down by 3.10 % as compared with October as textile products worth $1.214 billion exported in the previous month.

About 51,240 thousand dozen knitwear worth $1.320 billion were also exported during five months of the current financial year as compared to the exports of 48,315 thousand dozen valuing $1.215 billion of the same period of the last year, the data showed.

Whereas, about 76,210 metric tons of towels worth $317.484 million also exported during the period under review.

LEATHER EXPORTS: According to the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics, leather manufactures exports during the first five-month of the current financial year grew by 11.21% as compared to the exports of the corresponding period of the last year. During July-November 2019, leather manufacturers worth $227,428 million were exported as compared to the exports of $204,494 million of the same period of the last year.

The exports of leather garments increased by 13.34% valuing $125,714 million exported. About leather gloves worth $96,900 million were also exported in the first quarter of the current financial year. During the period under review, other leather manufactures exports also recorded a positive growth of 3.02%. Other leather manufacturers worth $4,814 million were exported as compared to the exports of $4,673 million in the same period of the last year.
